Accrington Stanley’s goalkeeper search came to an end on Friday, but the day after the search has started again!

Friday saw Accrington Stanley boss John Coleman complete the signing of Liverpool stopper David Martin. A England Under-20 International, Martin joined on loan until 22nd March. The 21 year old moved to Anfield from MK Dons in January last year and although he is yet to make a first team appearance for Liverpool he has been on the bench in the Premiership this season.

He was immediately brought in to the Stanley line-up to replace fellow on-loam stopper Kazimierczak. But 5minutes into his debut against Lincoln City, the youngster injured his ankle and had to be taken off. A ankle injury that will sadly see him sidelined at least until the end of his loan period with us.

So, a day after ending the search for a stopper to deputise for the injured Ian Dunbavin, the search is back on as only on-loan Bolton Wanderers ‘keeper Kazimierczak is left.
