Accrington picked up the points after a 2-0 win over struggling Macclesfield at the Fraser Eagle Stadium on Saturday.
After a goalless first half, in which on-loan Clayton McDonald headed inches over the bar for the guests things changed early in the second half as the home side took control.
Not long into the second half Paul Mullin (50) volleyed home a corner to give Accrington the lead, and the second, and decisive goal came 10 minutes later. Another corner saw Macclesfield ‘keeper Jonathon Brain fumble Jimmy Ryan’s (60) effort from the edge of the area and it trickled into the net.
Mullin’s and Ryan had further chances for the home side, although Martin Gritton did come close for the visitors, who also saw Gareth Evans denied by Accy ‘keeper Kenny Arthur, but the home side prevailed.
Accrington fans, you must be happy with this win? Do you think the result was a fair reflection of the game?
