Northampton were helped by Adebayo Akinfenwa’s first hat-trick for the club as they secured a win at Accrington on Saturday afternoon.

The Cobblers were ahead early when Adebayo Akinfenwa (17) scored his first, and the games first, goal of the afternoon but Accrington were level at the break when George Miller (37) struck. This coming after the bar denied Northampton a second.

Having been behind Romuald Boco (57) turned the game around to give the hosts a lead but this was short-lived with Jake Robinson (67) soon bringing the visitors level.

An Akinfenwa (69 & 76) double earned him the match ball and Northampton a 4-2 win.
