Yesterday Accrington Stanley announced that they had entered into a partership with Mitre to supply official playing and training kits for the remainder of 2013-14.

The new home kit under this deal will make its debut in our game on Boxing Day against York City at The Store First Stadium and obviously the club are delighted to be able to announce this news.

Speaking to the Official Site chairman Peter Marsden said of the tie up that whilst he acknowledges it’s somewhat strange for a club to switch a kit supplier midway through the season, he feels this is an extremely positive move for Accrington Stanley for many reasons.

‘Joining forces with such a well respected, mainstream supplier that boasts a wealth of footballing tradition and technical expertise signals an exciting step for the club.’

He goes on to say that the players at the club have already commented on how much they like the new gear and as well as supplying the kits and training wear he says that Mitre have been very supportive by additionally providing fitness equipment for use by the players.

‘We look forward to continuing to develop a strong and mutually beneficial relationship with this much loved British brand.’

Chirag Patel, vice president of product and marketing at Mitre said that one of the attractions for the company was that Stanley have a rich football heritage and appear to be a club on the up given our recent turnaround under new manager James Beattie and he feels the partnership will be of great benefit to all involved.

The new home kit goes on sale from the club shop from Monday December 23rd.
