Young striker Marcus Carver has moved to Conference North side Barrow on a month long loan spell.

The 20 year old has made eight appearances for Accrington Stanley so far this season, and he’s found the net once.

This will be his second loan spell as he spent time earlier in the season at Halifax.

Speaking to the Official Site, Beattie said that it was another good chance for the youngster to get a run of games under his belt and progress further in his development.

‘It’s a good opportunity for him to gain some experience and fitness to give him the chance to come back and stake a claim for a first team place.’

The manager does add though that it would be unfair because of his age and experience at the moment, for Carver to be relied upon in terms of first team duties as we need to give him space and freedom to develop without just piling a host of pressure on his young shoulders, but undoubtedly he carries a lot of potential and Beattie says he sees a lot of attributes in him that he remembers he had as a young lad, so he could have a very bright future ahead of him.

Pleasingly for Beattie he adds that he knows that Barrow want the lad, so they will take good care of him, so he’ll continue to train with us, but come the end of the week he’ll have something to look forward to.
