ACCRINGTON Stanley target Anthony Barry has signed for Coca-Cola League Two outfit Chester City, after snubbing a switch to the Fraser Eagle Stadium.

Barry who joined Accrington in 2005 from Coventry City had been in talks with chairman Eric Whalley and manager John Coleman, but chose the Deva Stadium over a move back to East Lancashire.

The former Everton trainee made 26 apperances for Stanley who were in the Conference at the time left Accrington for Yeovil Town where he proved to be a fans favourite, before his release this summer.

The 24-year-old midfielder has signed a two-year contract with Chester following their transfer embargo was lifted.
