Manager James Beattie has admitted that he was left very disappointed following the two one loss to Burton Albion last Saturday.

A Billy Kee brace was enough to send us to two successive losses away from home following on from the Portsmouth match, and speaking to the Official Site the gaffer admitted that had it not been for the form of Marcus Bettinelli when we rode our luck earlier in the game, the score line could in fact have been worse.

‘I thought we rode our luck a little early on in the game thanks to Marcus Bettinelli, who is an excellent goalkeeper and made a couple of great saves. We didn’t switch on for the first ten minutes but then we got into our stride.’

Beattie goes on to say that the players were all ‘distraught’ in the dressing room following the game because it was such a narrow defeat in the end and working hard to get ourselves back on level terms, when the penalty came it was a blow to everyone.

Unfortunately as a striker he knows that goals change games and with Burton taking the lead again in the final ten minutes of the match, they changed their formations and really tightened up to see the game out and we just couldn’t find a way through them again despite our best efforts and going three up front ourselves to try and snatch a point back.
