Manager James Beattie couldn’t have been more happy following our two nil victory over Fleetwood Town last night.
Stanley’s win came courtesy of a Webber penalty and Odejayi put the game beyond them a few minutes later, but it was certainly a bit of a late showing for Accrington where it looked like the goals wouldn’t come until we were into the final 20 minutes of the match.
Speaking to the press following the game Beattie explained his pride in the lads and said that with each passing game they were believing in themselves more and more and he feels a bit of a confident swagger is now starting to work it’s way on to the pitch and players are being more prepared to try a little bit of the unexpected because of how confident they are.
Again Beattie there were a few words at half time given how Fleetwood started the game, but he couldn’t have been more pleased with our showing in the second 45.
‘There was a lot more happiness in the dressing room after the game than at half time.’
The win extends Accrington’s unbeaten run to eight league games now, and importantly we find ourselves five points clear of the relegation places after propping up the league only a few short weeks ago.
