Manager James Beattie has called for the team to keep their league momentum going when we face Scunthorpe this weekend.

We obviously lost to Tranmere in our last match but that was the FA Cup and represented our first loss in six games as the last time we lost in the league was in the home fixture where we went down two one to Dagenham and Redbridge.

The improvement we have shown of late is what he now wants us to continue so we can keep pulling ourselves away from the bottom of the table as that is our only concern this season really.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of the Scunny match, the gaffer said.

‘I’m happy at the moment because we’re ticking along nicely and we’ve progressed hugely from where we were a few weeks ago. I’m looking forward to the game as I always do. We’ve given the players all the information they need and hopefully Saturday will bring us the result that everybody wants.’

Beattie goes on to say that he knows Scunthorpe will be a good test for us but as ever he has confidence in the players and he believes they will have better luck against that particular opponent than he has had in the past as a player, and even despite the loss, he had confidence going into the game because of how we performed against League One Tranmere Rovers.

The key now though is obviously continuing that and continuing to improve and pick up the points we want.
