Manager James Beattie has said that he’s looking for a massive derby atmosphere from the crowd when we face Bury tomorrow.

There’s hardly anything separating the two sides in the table at the moment, and the gaffer has called on the fans to give the team the biggest boost they can during 90 minutes at the Store First Stadium so we can ensure we come away with the result that we want.

Bury are below us by a single point, although they do have a better goal difference at the moment, but it’s not just bragging rights that are up for offer – three points depending on how results go could move Accrington into the heady places in the table, 11th could be possible.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of the game, Beattie explained.

‘It’s a big game, it’s the closest football club to us in the division. We’re trying to drum up some interest and get a big crowd down. Hopefully the weather will be kind to us but obviously we can’t affect that, but it’s a good game for us to play.’

Obviously the gaffer is looking for us to improve our home form, because our away form has seen a return of four wins in the last six games, and if we could replicate that on home soil we really would bounce up the league with some speed.

‘We’ve had a couple of result where teams have scored in the last minute, the lads have put so much effort in and to see it go to waste at the end is very hard to take. I don’t like them being disappointed. I want them to enjoy the results they deserve and hopefully those results will come.’

Of course confidence is high again after our victory over Cheltenham Town so we head into the match on the back of a good result and a good performance, so for the manager it’s about us turning up and playing as we know we can as although Bury aren’t going to roll over for us, he has the belief we can be the team who comes away happy.
