Manager James Beattie has said he expects Morecambe to come out all guns blazing in tonight’s match at The Store First Stadium.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of the game, Beattie played down history as having any bearing given that Jim Bentley has already talked of his frustration at never having beaten us in league two competition so far.

‘Hopefully that trend will continue but I think you’ve seen from this league any team can beat any team on the day. I’m not superstitious about the record and I’m sure that Jim will have his lads fired up and ready to try and put it right from their perspective, but we’ll be trying to keep it right from ours.’

The gaffer knows that with the derby element to the gme it should certainly be a cracker again but from his perspective and although he knows what it means to the fans, it simply has to be another game on our step for survival this season.

Skipper Luke Joyce has also called on the lads to look for three points to give us a more comfortable end to the season that we had last year when safety was secured on the penultimate weekend.

‘Onve you’ve been in the situation we were in you never want to be there again. We can use the experience of last year and remember how good it felt to beat Bristol Rovers that day and secure our safety, we want to have that feeling again and finish as high as possible.’

Joyce goes on to say that he’s never known a league two like this before given how tight it is, but he knows all we have to do is just focus on ourselves and what we can control and hopefully everything else will fall into place with other results.
