In yesterday’s game against Torquay United, 26 year old Luke Joyce made his 200th appearance for the club.
Having joined us back in 2009, he almost capped the celebration himself with a goal but unfortunately it hit the post in the first half.
Speaking to the Official Site following the game and his achievement, manager James Beattie said of the player.
‘Joycey’s a true professional. He’s one of the first lads whose services I made a beeline to try to secure when I too the job in the summer. He put in a good performance in the centre of the park and he’s growing into the captain’s leadership role.’
Beattie added that Joyce had his wife and newly born daughter in the crowd to celebrate his 200th game for the club and he’s knows he’d have been very proud come the final whistle.
The club will be making a special presentation to Joyce to mark the milestone ahead of the game on Tuesday evening against Fleetwood Town.
Congratulations again Luke!
