Bender joins to straighten defence

DON’T worry I’m not having a dig with the name of the article, Accrington Stanley have snapped up 18 year old defender Tom Bender on loan until the end of the season.

The Colchester United youngster can operate as either a left back or a centre half and made his first team bow for the U’s aged just 16.

Wales born Bender has represented his country at youth level and has also been mentioned as a potential star of the future. He will be available for selection for John Coleman in the FA Cup and also the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.
