Accrington Stanley midfielder Romauld Boco has been putting in extra hours in the gym in a bid to up his fitness.

The Benin International Boco, told of how he has started going to the gym on his days away from training.

‘Often we have a day off during the week, so I usually go along to the gym.’ Said Rommy talking to the Lancashire Telegraph.

‘I go to get stronger. I’m not too big, but I want to get bigger and I want to be the best and the fittest that I can.

‘It was very hard for me to get fit quickly after being injured, but I have worked hard and I have felt good for the last five or six games.’

Boco is hoping to bring the curtain down on Stanley’s relegation fears with victory over Paul Ince’s Macclesfield Town at the Fraser Eagle Stadium on Saturday.

‘We have got to think of ourselves on Saturday first of all. We have got to win our game against Macclesfield.

‘We’ve won our last four games at home, but this will be the biggest of them all. It’s the biggest game that I’ve ever played in.

‘They will be giving their maximum because they also need the points to stay up, but we will be giving everything we can because the result is so important.

‘For the club and everyone, we need to win. We don’t want to go back down into the Conference again.’
