Accrington Stanley have announced the signing of 21 year old striker George Bowerman.

He joins us on a permanent basis until the end of the campaign as a free agent following his release by Walsall at the end of last season.

Speaking to the Official Site manager James Beattie said of the capture.

‘I’m delighted, George has scored goals in League One so we’re pleased to have him on board. His movement is excellent, and he passes the ball into the net, he’s very precise.’

Bowerman made 59 appearances for Walsall during his time at the club and he scored eleven goals during that time.

Beattie goes on to explain that he’s very composed in front of goal, and that’s something that has been missing from our play so far this season.

He came through Walsall youth system and was due for a move to Scottish Premier League side St Johnstone but red tape prevented that move, so clearly the kid has some pedigree.

The manager also credits his attitude because he’s aware he still had other options on the table, and obviously moving to Accrington would not have been the most financially rewarding offer he had, but obviously he can no doubt work with the manager himself on his play, and having got on with the lads already, you’d imagine he’s brought into what we are trying to achieve here under Beattie.

Fingers crossed this turns out to be the perfect move for all concerned.
