RUMOUR is, that ex-Burnley midfielder Graham Branch has opened talks with Accrington Stanley, days after being released from Turf Moor.

This rumour was around a few months back, but nothing came from it, but Branch has recently been released by Burnley gaffer Steve Cotterill, and has already gone on record to say he wanted to stay local because of his family.

Branch had his Burnley Testimonial on bank holiday Monday, and left the club the day after, following seven and a half years there.

Branch, 35, is expected to join in the next few weeks as he is one of the players Coleman talked about when he said he would have two more players by the end of next week.

Little over 1,800 fans turned out to say goodbye when the current Burnley side played a ‘Branch XI’ in the testimonial. Although no official announcement had been made by that stage, Branch’s departure had been confirmed by Steve Cotterill in interviews leading up to this testimonial match.
