Former loan signing Adam Buxton has today rejoined Accrington Stanley on a one year contract.
The full back was impressive during his loan spell last season, where he made eleven appearances following his move from Wigan Athletic in the second part of the campaign.
Following his release by his parent club over the summer, he returned for training with James Beattie in what could be said was a guaranteed trial spell, and today that has now come to pass.
Speaking to the Official Site as the deal was announced, the 22 year old explained.
‘I’m delighted to be back, obviously I came here for two months last season on loan and enjoyed it massively. When the gaffer spoke to me in the summer about coming back it was a no brainer really. We’ve had time off and I’ve enjoyed that but I’m just raring to get going now.’
Buxton goes on to say that in training so far he feels the lads have looked very sharp and that’s been shown by our performances in the pre season friendlies so far, and of course he’s featured in both games against New Mills and Nelson himself.
Manager James Beattie is obviously pleased with his latest capture, and he said himself.
‘Adam is a tremendous player and I am delighted to secure his services. There were a lot of other teams looking at him but he liked what he saw last season. He knows it’s a great club for him to showcase his skills. He’s a great addition for us.’
