BOSTON United have today been relegated back to the Conference National, in a thrilling last day battle with Wrexham.

The Pilgrims went in to the game knowing nothing but a win would do, and at one point Boston were in the lead and looking like they would survive, but wasn’t to be.

Francis Green had given Boston a gimmer of hope on 39 minutes with a goal that took them out of the bottom three for a short period of time.

Second half goals from Ryan Valentine, Chris Llewellyn and Michael Proctor though, sent Boston down.

Macclesfield survived simply on goal difference, after their 1-1 draw with Notts County at The Moss Rose Ground. John Miles, who scored twice at Stanley last week had Paul Ince’s outfit ahead within six minutes.

Andy Parkinson strook the visitors equal just before half-time to leave Macclesfied very nervy.

At the other end of the table, Swindon Town pipped Stanley’s victors MK Dons to the last automatic promotion spot with a 1-1 draw with Champions Walsall.
