ACCRINGTON STANLEY midfielder Paul Carden has today dropped down to Blue Square Premier outfit Cambridge United on-loan until the beginning of January.

Carden, 28, joined Stanley in the summer from Burton Albion, and made his Cambridge debut against his old side on Friday evening, with his new side coming out on top in a close fought encounter.

Carden has struggled to break in to the first team at Stanley following a series of injury lay-offs, and John Coleman felt it was the correct time to let the energetic midfield man go out on loan to get some much needed first team games.

Good luck Paul.
