Following on from all the recent contract extensions at the club, striker Marcus Carver has become the latest to sign a new contract to continue his work with manager James Beattie.
The youth team graduate has agree a new deal that will keep him with us for a further 12 months as the manager casts his eye over his continued development.
Speaking to the Official Site after penning the deal, 20 year old Carver said.
‘I’ve signed for another year and hopefully I can make my mark this season. I struggled with an injury towards the end of last season but I’m fit again now and looking to come back for pre season and show the gaffer what I’ve got.’
Carver goes onto say that he feels in some ways the injury he sustained has made him stronger, because he’s been watching from the sidelines for the final four months of the season and all he could think was how much he wanted to get back on the pitch and make it happen for him, and what would he do if he couldn’t play anymore.
So he believes that desire, and the mental strength he’s developed from going through that, should help set him up well in the future to make the very most of his time on the pitch when he gets the opportunity.
