ACCRINGTON Stanley Captain Peter Cavanagh has today put pen to paper on a deal which will keep him at the Fraser Eagle Stadium for a further year.

Cavanagh, 26, joined John Coleman at Stanley at the end of 2001 after he was released by Liverpool, where he had spent 10 years, playing at all ranks for the club. School boy, trainee and pro.

The specualtion has started on various Accrington Stanley messageboards, and tomorrow the truth will come, when John Coleman is set to announce two signings, a midfielder and a striker, who both have valuable Football League experience.

I don’t want to name any names, but if I was you, I wouldn’t be suprised if one of them was ex-Burnley player Graham Branch, who can play in defence, midfield or in strike.

Later in the week, there will also be news of Stanley’s first professional signing from the Fraser Eagle youth education programme.

Bet you can’t wait till the press conference tomorrow morning can you? Make sure your on Vital Accrington Stanley tomorrow to see who has joined, and who may be leaving.
