Accrington Stanley are represented in the first Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.
The performance by Aaron Chapman in Accrington’s three two victory over Doncaster Rovers at the weekend at the Crown Ground was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.
I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Chapman was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.
‘Chapman returned to Stanley in the summer and it looked like a nightmare start for the 6’8 stopper when he brought down Matty Blair in the first minute of their match with Doncaster Rovers. However, the 26-year-old denied Andy Williams from scoring the first Saturday goal of the new season and the hosts went on to win 3-2.’
It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Chapman for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.
