BURNLEY youngster Dean Overson has joined Accrington Stanley’s League Two rivals Bradford City, despite a brief trial spell at the Crown Ground.

The 18-year-old defender can operate as either a right back or a centre half and is a product of the Turf Moor club’s Centre of Excellence set up.

Following a lengthy spell on the sidelines last season, Overson was told not to expect a professional contract with the Clarets and soon joined John Coleman’s side for training.

However with the Reds thought to be stalling on a deal, Overson joined Bradford for a trial week and played for the club in a friendly match. After impressing, the son of former Stoke City defender Vince Overson, was offered a two year contract at Valley Parade.
