Clean Sheet Yes, Point No

Tom Aldred has said he and the team were delighted with another clean sheet against Torquay, but the team wanted all three points from the game.

Speaking to the Official Site Aldred said there were plenty of positives that could be taken from the game, even if the lack of a maximum return left them frustrated.

‘We wanted the three points obviously, but the worst case scenario is we kept a clean sheet, defended it out, kept our shape and didn’t get beat. We’re disappointed to not pick up the three points.’

If not losing is a worst case scenario, there are plenty of fans who would take that for a bit of stability, but Aldred does admit that if we had played like we did in the second half for all 90 minutes we would have secured the points, but unfortunately we were unable to do that, so that has to be our aim in the coming games.

On a personal note for him, he wants to keep his first team place now he’s got it after arriving in January.

‘Obviously I played a part on Tuesday and that was a good way to come into the team with a 3-0 win, the more I play, the better I get – the lads are taking to me and I am enjoying it.’
