JOHN Coleman’s Accrington Stanley, started off Pre-Season in perfect style brushing aside non-league minows Clitheroe. Goals from new signing Mark Roberts and a unkown trialist finished the game.

Summer captures John Miles, Roscoe D’Sane, Graham Branch, Paul Carden, Mark Roberts and Kenny Arthur all made their Stanlwy bows in the fixture.

The game saw a mixture of first teamers and trialists made up the 23 man squad, that travelled to The Blues.

Boss Coleman said: ‘It’s always nice to win, but the work we put in was more important.

‘We applied ourselves well and showed a good attitude towards the game. There was some good, bright spots out there.

‘Obviously, it’s always difficult bedding new players in and you try and put out a mix of two different sides, one for the first half and one for the second.

Stanley head back to the Fraser Eagle Stadium for the first home friendly of the Pre-Season campaign. Championship neighbours Burnley are the visitors, with ticket prices being; £10 for adults and £5 for concessions.
