Manager John Coleman has told the team to ignore the pundits and experts and just focus on continuing our own form levels ahead of the game against Dagenham and Redbridge.

Speaking to the Official Site with Accrington winning their last three matches, Coleman knows the pundits are taking pot shots at us because it’s against their expectations of the side, but for him all we have to do is just keep on doing what we’re doing.

‘Whatever way you dress it up, because we’re going into games now as one of the form teams then we’re there to be shot at and become a scalp. It’s difficult for players to adjust, we’ve won the last three games and wouldn’t have been anyone’s favourites to win them so we go into Saturday and because Dagenham are below us we’ll be the favourites to win.’

Coleman goes on to say that football isn’t that simple though and just because Dagenham are below us it doesn’t mean it’ll be an easy game for us, or that we’re guaranteed victory or any of that nonsense because he knows they are a good team and he watched them recently.

‘They are a good side who are very, very entertaining and play a smashing brand of football. Both teams will try to play and it’ll be refreshing to see them come here and attack.’

Coleman adds he believes from scouting, that their away form is better than their home form, so he’s expecting a very tough encounter and a very difficult match but he knows all of them are at this level.

‘Every game is tough and that’s why I tell the players that every point should be treated like gold dust. If you can get them in lumps of three by winning it doesn’t half make a difference.’
