Manager John Coleman has said that James Gray will be like a new signing when he returns from his suspension.

Following his dismissal a few games back, Gray has only been able to try and impress the new gaffer during training sessions as he has been unable to take to the pitch following the Oxford game.

This weekend’s clash against Mansfield is the final game of his ban, and Coleman has told the Official Site that he’ll be the proverbial new signing when our top goalscorer this season returns to action, and he’s tipped him to be ready to go for the game against Dagenham and Redbridge.

‘We have got James on quite a modern fitness programme to try to get him up to speed when he comes back in and is capable of lasting 90 minutes. He has really embraced it and enjoyed it. It will be like having a new signing as James has not played for me yet. But what I know is that at the end of last season and the start of this season, he was on a great goalscoring run.’

So far this campaign the 22 year old has found the net on five occasions and everybody hopes he can kick on from where he left off when he does come back after this weekend.

Coleman adds that it has been difficult for him missing out because when your form is like his, it’s very disappointing to be ‘stopped in your tracks’ and the secret for James will be to come back in with the belief he had and find that net as soon as he can again.
