ACCRINGTON Stanley gaffer John Coleman was far from impressed at his defence’s second half showing at the Fraser Eagle Stadium in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

Stanley led League One outfit Oldham Athlic in the First Round of the competition by 2 goals to nil heading in to the Half-Time break.

But a second half of shocking defending and goalkeeping saw Accrington make an early cup exit after Roscoe D’Sane and Andy Proctor had put Stanley ahead.

‘We defended badly and other people will have to come in. The game should have been dead and buried when we were 2-0 up,’ Coleman said speaking to the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.

‘The only pleasing part was that we have scored two goals and we have ended our goal hoodoo.

‘But the defending was not good enough and I blame the back five.’
