Manager John Coleman has said we had some big characters on display, particularly in the first half, in our two one victory over Morecambe on Friday.
Speaking to the press at full time following a penalty from Luke Joyce before Shay McCartan doubled our advantage, our manager explained.
‘There were some big characters and Johnno was unplayable in the first half. It was a smashing game and sometimes you like winning games like that rather than winning 3-0 as we looked like we would in the first half. We showed great character and resilience as we knew we faced an onslaught in the second half but we dealt with it and thoroughly deserved the win.’
We are still waiting on news as to the severity of the injury sustained by on loan Fulham stopper Jesse Joronen who had to be stretchered off with a knee injury, and of course it was the last thing we wanted having seen Aaron Chapman end his loan spell with us early after picking up an injury of his own.
‘I seem to have bad luck with keepers. He has gone to hospital and we will have to assess it.’
Hopefully the injury won’t be too bad.
With Coleman having one eye on the play offs, he says the first target we have to hit is the 30 point mark, and he knows if we can do that sooner rather than later it will give us a ‘platform’ to build on for the play offs in the second half of the season, but he knows nobody will be getting carried away and we’ll just keep taking it one game at a time.
