Following the weekend injury to debutant stopper David Martin, John Coleman has been left cursing the Accrington curse!

That means there have been an amazing 16 goalkeepers registered by Stanley since promotiom to the Nationwide Conference.

Speaking to The Lancashire Telegraph John Coleman had this to say;

‘It’s a blow because you don’t know how good he’s (Martin) going to be. I think it must be a world record, the fact that somebody has gone off the pitch on his debut so early without touching the ball.

‘It is frustrating but life has dealt us a lot of bad blows this season and that’s just another one.

‘He’s gone back to Liverpool and we’ll have to speak to them once he’s fit again.’

That leaves the Reds with Polish stopper Przemyslaw Kazimierczak, although his one-month loan deal from Bolton is set to run out this week, and 19-year-old Martin Fearon as cover for the injured Ian Dunbavin.

‘We’re speaking to Bolton this week (about Kazimierczak) and we’ll see what happens there.’ Coleman continued.

‘It’s just one of those things.

‘The position has been a bit of a problem for us, but there’s not a lot we can do about it.

‘We’ve just got to get on with things.’

Stanley keepers since promotion to the Conference: Jamie Speare, Jon Kennedy, Carl Ikene, Paul Crichton, Danny Alcock, Stuart Jones Bertrand Bossu, Paul Harrison, Craig Gallagher,, Darren Randolph, Andy Dibble, Rob Elliot, Ian Dunbavin , Francois Dubourdeau, Przemyslaw Kazimierczak, David Martin
