ACCRINGTON STANLEY have swooped to sign Sunderland’s left sided midfielder Billy Dennehy on loan until Januray, whilst McEvilly has joined Rochdale on loan for the same period of time.

Dennehy, 20, has joined Stanley after impressing John Coleman in the Reds’ midweek Lancashire Cup Round 2 victory over Blackpool at Bloomfield Road.

The Irishman is yet to feature under Roy Keane in the Premiership after joining the club in 2005 whilst Mick McCarthy was in charge of the club.

He has also represented county of Kerry, Ireland, in Gaelic Football.

Meanwhile, Stanley striker Lee McEvily has joined Lancashire and League Two rivals Rochdale on loan until January with a view to extend the deal until the end of the current campaign.

Lee however won’t be able to start against Stanley as part of the deal taking him to the club.
