Walsall skipper Michael Dobson has spoke out at how he was told of Walsall’s luck in the game against Accrington Stanley. A game which he sat out through illness.

‘We are not looking at the next three games or the next six games,’ said the Saddlers skipper speaking to icWalsall.

‘At this point of the season if you go looking too far ahead, you can come unstuck. It’s all about Accrington tomorrow and trying to get three points against them. Then we will look towards the next one.

‘Accrington are fighting for their lives so it’s going to be a tough game, just as it was at their place. I was ill so didn’t play up there but I’m told we were lucky to win.

‘Every team in this division can be dangerous if you give them a chance. So it’s down to us to do our jobs.

‘If we are solid we have enough in this team to make sure they don’t score. We’ve also got enough to score a few ourselves. It’s just a case of doing the job right.’
