Accrington Stanley boss John Coleman has had a six figure bid for York City forward Clayton Donaldson rejected.

Stanley initially made a five figure bid for the player, but after that offer was turned down, Coleman upped his offer. The second bid is reported to be around £110,000, but that still wasn’t good enough for York.

Donaldson is currently the leading goalscorer in the Nationwide Conference and York clearly wanted to keep him at the Kit Kat Crescent Stadium.

Stanley were also chasing a new centre half. But after watching the Scot in mid week, Coleman has decided not to persue him.
