ACCRINGTON STANLEY have today (Friday) completed the loan signing of Blackpool’s 21-year-old defender, Phil Doughty, who is expected to be in the 16 for the game with Brentford at The Fraser Eagle Stadium on Saturday.

Doughty is fresh from a loan spell with League Two rivals Macclesfield Town, who had a permanent offer for the defender accepted, before the youngster opted to join the Reds.

The Kirkham born defender has yet to make an appearance for the Blackpool first team, but has Captained the Reserve and Youth sides and featured in the F.A. Cup and the formerly named LDV Vans Trophy.

Vital Stanley understands that Accrington have a view to a permanent deal.
