ACCRINGTON Stanley goalkeeper Ian Dunbavin is still locked in talks with manager John Coleman over his new contract at the club, but is thought to be close to a deal.

Dunbavin is currently the only shot stopper on the books of the first team following the departure of Kenny Arthur to local rivals Rochdale, but looks set to extend his stay at The Crown Ground.

The contract is thought to be close to being finalised, but the Stanley gaffer Coleman is still on the lookout for up to two more ‘keepers to provide competition and cover for Dunbavin and admitted that he is getting a lot of propositions.

‘I have already had five phone calls from agents pushing goalies onto me so they are out there, it is a case of finding out which one will suit us best.’ Coleman told the Accrington Observer.

‘Kenny`s departure is a blow. I was quite confident when we offered him a deal so it was a shock to me but, the longer time went on, the more I felt he perhaps could leave. But we just have to move on. We need two goalkeepers and Ian can push for a first team place.’
