Accrington have lined up a friendly against Premiership side Everton.
James Beattie’s former club will be hosted at The Store First Stadium to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the first Football League fixture between Stanley and Everton which took place in September 1888.
The game takes place on July 17 and will kick off at 7.45pm.
Speaking to the Official Site Rob Heys said of the fixture.
‘This is a fantastic game. It’ll be a great occasion for the club and town and a wonderful opportunity to recognise Accrington’s role as one of the founding fathers of the Football League.’
