BLUE Square Premier side Fleetwood Town, have snapped up former Accrington Stanley midfielder Ian Craney on a free transfer.

Craney featured in the Reds’ side that won promotion to the Football League in the 2005/06 season and quickly became a wanted man as he impressed in League Two.

Swansea City won the race first time around and signed Ian, who to date has 132 Football League appearances under his belt, but he fell out of favour with the Welsh side and soon found himself back at the Crown Ground after John Coleman pounced on a reduced price deal.

Again his performances caught the eyes of higher league scouts and League One side Huddersfield Town snapped him up along with fellow former Stanley man Gary Roberts, who joined from Ipswich Town.

More to follow shortly.
