Triallist Kai Naismith has joined Accrington on a two year deal after being released by Rangers.

The 21 year old striker was going to have limited opportunities with Ally McCoist and the Ibrox outfit this season after they strengthened the side following their promotion last season, so the decision was made to help Naismith move on to a club where he could develop further and really kick start his promising career.

Accrington have taken full advantage of that.

Speaking to the Official Site Naismith said of the move.

‘It’s brilliant to be back, I just need to come and play football, get away from Rangers and have the chance to work with the gaffer who I know from Rangers. I really like him so I’m glad to be back and playing for him. I was always hoping the move would come off. There were one or two wee things but I always knew that the manager wanted me and I wanted to come here.’

Naismith has been handed the No 11 shirt.
