Hunt Positive On Improvement

Despite the injury worries that Accrington Stanley have had to deal with so far this season, Nicky Hunt believes the corner isn’t far away when it comes to our league form.

Speaking to the Plymouth Herald right back Nicky Hunt said he was delighted to return from injury himself in the game against Rochdale last weekend, although making his return from a knee injury would’ve been sweeter had the result gone for us.

The 30 year old explained that he felt it would click for Stanley soon, as we have too much quality in the team to continue losing games in the league.

‘The league position doesn’t lie, but we aren’t focusing on that, we are focusing on winning games. That’s when we will start rifling up the league, it’s only a matter of time before the results start coming our way.’

Things will certainly be helped when we get over our injury hiccups, as so far we’ve not only had to deal with summer signing and a very experienced Hunt being out injured, but we are also missing goalkeeper Iain Dunbavin who also has a knee injury, Michael Liddle with an ankle injury, Laurence Wilson with a groin problem and Danny Webber who also has a groin problem.

Get them back and competing and competition alone should give us an extra boost and that extra 5% will be the difference between at the very least, losing or drawing.

And so far, with everyone bedding in, and James Beattie himself finding his feet in the role, I doubt there’s anybody who wouldn’t have swopped even only two or three of our defeats, for a draw at the moment.
