ACCRINGTON Stanley manager John Coleman admitted after Stanley’s 2-0 win at Port Vale on Saturday that he would love to keep loanee Jamie Clarke until the end of the season.

Clarke, 19, joined Stanley on loan in July in a deal that would run until the end of December when it was planned that he would return to Ewood Park, but Coleman is hoping that his stay will stretch past December.

The young pace filled front man is yet to hit the back of the net for Stanley but was just inches from doing so on Saturday as his thunder bolt strook the upright.

Coleman said to the Lancashire Telegraph: “We`ve got Jamie until December but we would love to keep him longer than that.

“He seems to be making a habit of striking the woodwork and he certainly deserved a goal. He caused them a lot of trouble.”
