Defender Michael Liddle has said it’s ‘us’ against ‘everyone else’ now as the players have really come together as a unit since the start of the season.

We all know the statistics from the start of the season, a dozen without a win and then seven unbeaten in recent times and the 22 year old has said that during that period the squad really developed a siege mentality amongst themselves and that is now coming to the fore in their performances.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of the game against Fleetwood tonight, Liddle said.

‘It’s what this club is all about, it’s always been us against everybody else. Now even more than before, it’s like that. We’ve just got the mentality that it’s all about us, about what we do, nobody else can affect what we do when we walk out onto that pitch, what we do in training. We’ve just got to work hard for each other and for everybody at the club and for ourselves.’

Liddle goes on to say that only a few months ago everyone had wrote us off, but we are now well back in the mix and people will have to take us seriously, so our next step is now to start beating teams we aren’t expected to after showing we can beat those around us.

Ultimately for Liddle it’s now about how high can we go given we’ve found form.

As for the Fleetwood game, he says that all the players are looking forward to it and we’ll be going into the game looking for another three points like we do in every game, but this one especially will show us where we are in terms of the title challengers at this stage so it’ll be a good indication of where we can maybe set our sights for the season end.
