Accrington Stanley are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Billy Kee in the four all draw with Mansfield Town in midweek at Field Mill was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Kee was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘On a goal-filled evening, the highest-scoring game came at Field Mill, where Mansfield Town and Accrington played out a memorable 4-4 draw. Stanley were denied by a late equaliser, but Kee hit two – including a superb lob – as John Coleman’s men grabbed an impressive point at the in-form Stags.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Kee for his recognition, but the most important thing about the game was of course the point.
