Accrington Stanley are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.
The performance by Paddy Lacey in the one nil victory over Portsmouth at the weekend at the Crown Ground was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.
I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Lacey was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.
‘Lacey had just eight minutes of EFL action under his belt prior to Saturday afternoon, coming on a substitute in a home loss to Morecambe. Against Portsmouth, he was handed his first start – and he made the most of it. The 23-year-old produced an all-action display in the centre of the park, and he grabbed the game’s only goal. Quite good it was, too…’
It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Lacey for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.
