BURY have signed Accrington Stanley loan target Tom Lees on a six month loan from npower Championship side Leeds United.

Lees spent the whole of last season on loan at the Crown Ground with the Reds and looked very impressive, prompting Leeds gaffer Simon Grayson to offer the young defender a new two-year contract at Elland Road.

John Coleman was keen on keeping Lees into this season, but missed out after the Reds were hit with a transfer embargo, an embargo which has now been lifted, but by then it was too late and the ball was already in motion for a switch to Bury.

The 20-year-old who featured mainly as a right back for Stanley during his 46 appearances for the club, can also play at centre half, and has linked up with his new team mates ahead of the big League Two kick off this weekend.
