Accrington Stanley are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.
The performance by Sean McConville in the three nil victory over Carlisle United at the weekend at the Crown Ground was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.
I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why McConville was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.
‘Accrington moved to second in the Sky Bet League Two table after a comfortable 3-0 success at home to Carlisle United, and McConville was the main man for John Coleman`s side. The winger had already seen a long-range effort denied by the crossbar prior to curling in a precise free-kick, and he doubled his tally with a fine run and finish.’
It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to McConville for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.
