JOHN Miles has today penned a new contract with Accrington Stanley, after weeks of confusion over what the star midfielder was going to be doing.

The 27-year-old right midfielder was offered a new one-year-contract extention at the end of last season and after thinking it over opted to place himself on the transfer list in order to attract a bigger offer.

But that offer never came and three days later John requested to be taken off the list and instead agreed a new deal to keep him at The Crown Ground, a deal he today (Thursday) signed.

The former Macclesfield Town man was a key part of Accrington’s squad in his second season in East Lancashire and put in a number of man of the match performances.
