Padraig Amond has said that his goal against Morecambe might turn out to be his most important for the club.
Speaking to the media following the game in which the striker grabbed our second and effectively killed the opposition off, he said.
‘I suppose every goal is important but maybe that one was a little bit more because of where we are in the table.’
Following the win Accrington now head into the final two games of the campaign being three points clear of the drop zone, and our survival is firmly in our own hands.
‘It was the goal that clinched the game for us and put us in a good position.’
Amond said that the boss had been drilling into the team to keep going until the final whistle in games and he believes with the team taking that on board it helps explain our recent run of late goals and clawing points from matches we were losing.
