PETER Cavanagh believes that former Burnley striker John Mullin will be eager to put on a good show tomorrow as his new team Accrington Stanley take on the Clarets at the Fraser Eagle Stadium.

Mullin who had two spells with the Turf Moor outfit wracking up a total of 93 appearances with only 10 goals is desperate to put on a good show in front of what will be a bumper crowd for the game.

The 32-year-old did pick up a niggling ankle injury in training last week but is thought to be keen on playing some part in the game after a successful few sessions back with the team.

Cavanagh told the Lancashire Telegraph: “John turned his ankle but he`s back in training and he`s desperate to play against Burnley.

“He`s fitted in really well at the club and we`re all keen to see him play against good players.

“He`s a former Premier League player and he`s still got a few good years left in him so it`s a real coup for the club to have someone like him on board.

“Whenever we`ve had the balls out, his quality has been obvious and it just shows the ambition of the club to have signed players of his calibre.”
