Mullin joins Bradford City

ACCRINGTON Stanley’s top scorer Paul Mullin has this morning left the club for a loan spell with promotion chasing Bradford City, where he will stay until the end of the season.

On 14 April 2007, Mullin broke Chris Grimshaw’s record for club appearances for Accrington Stanley with 362 games, in a 4-1 victory against Grimsby Town. He scored the first of Stanley’s four goals during the match.

‘From the club’s point of view it is disappointing to see one of our key players go out on loan,’ said Chief Executive Rob Heys.

‘However Paul has just celebrated his 35th birthday this week and was very keen to take the opportunity to have a short spell in the Football League with another club, particularly as they are pushing for a play off place which could lead to a chance for him to play at Wembley.

‘He is still under contract for another season with us, as far as we are concerned he is an integral part of the side and he will be back wearing a Stanley shirt after the summer break.’

Good luck to Paul, lets hope your back in the red of Accrington Stanley next season.
