PAUL Mullin has been removed from the transfer list by Accrington Stanley after the club failed to recieve a concrete offer for the striker.

The news came ahead of Stanley’s season opener against Rotherham United. Mullin was placed on the transfer list at the end of last season because of financial reasons, with the 35-year-old a leading earner at the club.

Speaking about the decision chief executive Rob Heys told ‘There has been some interest there was nothing that was anywhere near a deal that would have been right for both Paul and the club.

‘We said last May that although we had made him available for transfer he was still very much an Accrington Stanley player with a year remaining on his contract, and as we start the new season today the time is right for us to confirm this by taking him off the list.’
